I
got an email on Friday regarding a
K-Rock Radio Chick contest with an
attachment of 'Smoke on the Water'
minus the guitar solo. The deal was to
record the solo and if your solo was
the best, you get an
interview with The Chick and Ian
Gillan (Deep Purple) who wrote
the tune. THEN you go play it
with the band at The NYC Concert
Hall that night.
Took an hour before I left for my Long
Island gig and did one … and I
WON!
So
listen on Wednesday to 92.3
K-Rock from 3-7. Should be
interesting!
Also,
I was entered into another contest at http://www.gillansinn.com/contest.php
but it doesn’t look so good for me
there. GO and have a vote or at least
check out my solo.

Riff-Off contest at BB Kings Blues Club in New York
City and was broadcast on Q104.3 the following
morning.

- Memorial Day weekend begins a dedicated string of
Jersey shore performances that continues until Labor
Day 9/1.

– Dave performs several dates in England with the
Dennis Taylor Band highlighted by a solo acoustic
set at the legendary Cavern Club in Liverpool.
11/19/02
– Dave performed an acoustic set to open the ‘Light
of Day’ Parkinsons Disease Benefit Concert which
featured Jersey legend, Bruce Springsteen.
